The present system has to become more sensitive and responsive to the contemporary needs of the girls. APIL aims at creating an environment for better educational opportunities through local self-governance. It is a process of people's participation in whole educational reforms with right approach to accountable ownership, democratic decentralization and empowered governance. It targets at evoking a debate on systemic reforms in education and its sustenance, among the people. Focusing at enrolment of all girl children in the school, this programme is targeted to address large issues of equity and quality in education.
