QUALITY IMPROVEMENT OF GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS:

THE WHOLE SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

The Whole School Development Plan is the product of an on-going process, where headtechers, in consultation with staff, school management committees and parents review and evaluate the effectiveness of the range of educational opportunities provided for pupils (focussing on girls) in their school and prepare their own plans, policies and assessment procedures.

A school plan is a complex sequence of activities peculiar to the individual school, the objectives of which are to create the best possible learning environment and to design and implement the most appropriate teaching programs for all pupils.

It is a cyclic process by which teachers and community review the needs of the school, establish priorities for development, design a response, evaluate its implementation leading to a further review and a new set of priorities.
